I started blogging some time ago and I have had various attempts. First in spanish, then when I saw that I had very low traffic and no growth I decided to switch to english. My traffic increased but I felt the need to do something in spanish. After all. This is my native language and I should endorse it. It’s like patriotism.
I though on starting another blog but I think I would get out of focus. I don’t have a lot of time and I would achieve anything if I don’t dedicate my limited free time to only one.
Another important thing I have to considerate are my writing skills. I mean in which language I’m the best writing. Probably spanish since is my native language but I now I don’t think there is much of a diference because I have been studying english since I was five years old. I practice writing in english much more than in spanish because of school so there is not a lot of difference. But if you know one language more than the another I think you should use the one you know more. You will probably won’t get as much traffic as in english but you will produce much better content. Unless your goal is practice english. Practicing english was one of the reasons I started this blog. My writing skills are not so good in english but they get better and better the more I practice. Not that I am a master writer in spanish.
It is one of the problem I see here in Mexico. People look at me and think Im crazy beacuse I have a blog. In fact most people here have no knowledge of what a blog is. It is quite frustrating.
So I guess that the language the language in which you feel you will produce something better should be the one you use to blog. English don’t have to be the primary language in the world. There are several others and I think everyone should help their own culture. But this is only my opinion.
